My Story
Movement has always been part of my life.
As a child I loved music and dance, and I began ballroom dancing at an early age. That love of movement stayed with me, and by the age of eighteen I was teaching exercise classes in my community and working as a fitness instructor.
For many years, helping people move and feel stronger was not just my career — it was my passion.
Then in my forties, I began to notice weakness in my right leg. After many months of tests and uncertainty, I was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy, a progressive muscle-wasting condition with no cure.
At first, the diagnosis was devastating. My identity, my confidence, and the work I loved all seemed suddenly uncertain.
But over time I began to realise something important.
Even though my body was changing, movement was still possible — it just needed to change with me.
Instead of intense workouts or long exercise sessions, I discovered that short bursts of gentle movement throughout the day helped me maintain strength, balance, posture, and independence.
Those small movements made a big difference.
And that discovery became the foundation of The Move More Method.
Today, my mission is simple:
To help people of all ages and abilities rediscover the joy and benefits of movement — in ways that feel achievable, supportive, and empowering.
Because no matter where you are starting from, movement can still be part of your life.
