At 60 years old, and weighing 19½ stone, I knew I needed to make some changes if I wanted to stay healthy and live an active life as I got older.
The Move More Method made a lot of sense to me. It wasn’t about extreme workouts or strict diets — it was about making simple, realistic changes that I could stick to.
It also made me look at my morning routine. I learned that if I started the day by moving a little — doing some of the Move More exercises — I felt much less pain and tightness in my body.
Now I begin every day with the morning exercises, I walk regularly, and throughout the day I regularly do some of the exercises as well. These small habits have become part of my daily routine.
Before starting the programme I often suffered with back pain, but that has now completely gone.
The recipes for the first meal of the day are definitely healthier and tastier than what I used to eat, and they help me start the day feeling energised.
What I’ve really learned is that mindset, good food, and gentle movement are the best way to move forward as I get older.
Friends and family say I look much younger, and according to my wife I’ve even stopped snoring — which she’s very pleased about!
I’ve lost 4 stone, I feel healthier and more active, and honestly I feel younger too.

When I turned 50 and started going through the menopause, I noticed my body changing. I had put on weight and, with low energy levels, hot flushes, aches, and pains, exercise started to feel like a real challenge.
Finding The Move More Method was a real turning point for me. It helped me focus less on my weight and what I looked like, and more on nourishing my body and supporting my mental and physical wellbeing. That shift in mindset was a revelation.
The exercises are enjoyable and gentle, and I actually look forward to doing them. Because they are simple and flexible, I have no problem fitting them into my busy lifestyle.
I can really feel the benefits. I move more easily, I feel stronger, and I’m not sore after exercising.
Most importantly, I now feel positive and confident about this next stage of my life, rather than dreading it.
In 2014, I was diagnosed with a life-changing illness and told that I would likely need a wheelchair in the near future.
Rather than giving up, I decided to use my many years of experience in the fitness industry to create an approach to movement that would help me stay mobile for as long as possible.
I discovered that short, regular movement throughout the day made a remarkable difference. Gentle exercises practised consistently helped maintain my strength, mobility, balance, and confidence.
Ten years later, I am still living an independent and active life, and that experience became the inspiration behind The Move More Method.
Through my journey I also learned how important good nutrition is for supporting our bodies, particularly as we age. Nourishing our bodies well, combined with regular gentle movement, can have a powerful impact on our health and wellbeing.
My goal is to inspire and support others to stay positive and proactive about their health, whatever stage of life they are at.
Because no matter our age or circumstances, there is always something we can do to help ourselves.
It is never too late to begin.
Simply adding regular gentle movement and improving our daily nutrition can make a life-changing difference to how we feel.
Move a little more, a little more often.

I had bursitis in my hip, which was causing me quite a lot of pain. Since starting The Move More Method exercises, the discomfort has eased and I feel much more comfortable. The movements have helped improve my posture, which has made a real difference to my hip.
As you get older, you don’t always feel like cooking and sometimes you can lose your appetite. The recipe suggestions helped me realise how tasty and enjoyable healthy food can be, and how quick and simple it is to prepare.
I have learned how important it is to eat regular, nutritionally balanced meals to keep my body healthy. My immune system is 84 years old too, so I know I need to support it with good nutrition.
And my grandchildren think I’m very cool because I now drink smoothies!
The Move More Method has helped me stay active, eat better, and enjoy life at 84.
